Silver: industrial metal and precious metal
More than half of all silver is used in industry, for example in solar panels and electronics. That is why the silver price often moves more than the gold price: economic growth increases demand, while in uncertain times investors choose silver as a store of value. Like gold, silver is traded internationally per troy ounce in dollars.
